 error on win98 and sqlserver2000

I think win98 could be your problem. The only edition of SQL Server that I am aware of that works in win98 is the developer edition. Is that what you are running? also, what service pack of SQL Server have you installed?

Is there any possibility of upgrading the OS to something a little newer, like WinXP?
