Do not apply the new patches Issue 9/14/2006 to Servers running windows 2003R that has SQL server 2000 running on it if you use windows Authentification for your applications.
The server will no longer see your userID and will think it is (Null).
Found this one the hard way when I had an unscheduled reboot this morning and the patches got applied.

Is it a known bug? Have you contacted MS about it?

Yes Tara they were notified.

Yes R2

Windows OS Patches not SLQ

Thank goodness I was able to remove them without that much problem.
But it scared the crap out of me when every department attempted to call me at once.

Could you post the patch numbers? I'd like to pass this information on to our MS TAM so that we can find out quickly if there is a resolution or if we should skip these.

did it only affect your R2 servers, or do you only have R2 systems?

Can anyone verify whether this is real? I can't find any reference to it on any of Microsoft's web sites.

It did not any effect on any of my other servers only the one running SQL 2000 Server.

SQL server is on SP4

I intended no offense. I was merely trying to find out if anyone else had found better information since your earlier post. I have suspended updates on all our servers until I could determine if we would be affected by this issue.

Again, I apologize if my comment seemed combative.
