has anyone had a big performance improvement from turning off
torn page detection in a high CPU server.

What is the theory on this? I guarantee turning it off is always improve performance (and will always increase your failure exposure). But I don't see why that would affect "high CPU" servers (whatever that means) more than otherwise.

I think I would track down what the cause of the High CPU utilization is and fix that rather than turning off torn page detection.

Let us know if you would like some help with that.
