When looking at the Device Manager of a client's Win XP machine, under "Other Devices" it shows SQL Server (actually a named instance of SQL Express), along with a few other software applications. Why would software be showing up in Device Manager like this?!The other things listed with question marks under Other Devices are:Network Security ServiceNorton Anti-Virus Auto Protect ServiceOffice Source EngineSQL ServerALSO, every time the machine boots the "Found New Hardware Wizard" launches and wants to install a device driver. It never succeeds however. SQL works just fine and they can get into apps using SQL w/out issue, but they want the hardware wizard to go away AND to make these stop showing up in Device Manager. Any ideas??? |

If no one has seen this or knows what might be causing it, could someone point me to another forum/group that may be able to assist? |
