Hi All,

here i had a problem to restore the database from backp file

first i had taken the backp of my reqired database

after that i want to restore the backp database into newly created database

it is not allowing showing msg as database is in use

if i delete the database frm which i had taken the backp it is allowing

But i don't want to delete the database
ALL THE PROCESS IS DONE IN SQL SERVER 2005

You have to make sure there aer no users in the database to do a restore.
Make sure you are not connected to the datbase when you do the restore.
You can see the users in the database via management studio or master..sysprocesses and kill them if necessary.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
