We need to comapre records from a oldanalysis to new analysis.
we are thing of using Checksum,binary_checksum to compare rows in SQL 2005.

Does anybody has used it before and are there any shortcomings of that.

It is possible to generate 2 identical binary_checksums values from different inpuut values....but if you get different binary_checksums values, then you can definitely say the input values are different.

The size? It is 4 bytes (32 bit) long, an integer value between -2147483648 and +2147483647.

I finally used hashbytes its more unique and works fast too!!!
