Hello, All!I'm planning to update my SQL Server to Windows 2003 R2. At this moment, my server is installed with Windows 2003 SP1.Anybody already has SQL Server 2000 SP3 with Windows 2003 R2 installed and running together?I think that this update will no affect my SQL Server, but if anybody had problem with it, please let me know to avoid anything bad.ThanksJuliano Horta |

I don't have any idea as to the answer to your question, but out of curiosity, what's different about R2?I would honestly assume that this combination is so common, you'll have zero problems whatsoever. If you did run into problems, you'd most likely be able to get an answer very quickly. Personally, before I do anything major to my servers, I restore a recent backup of the disks to a test box (Acronis TrueImage works wonderfully well for this type of thing) and test what I'm planning to find any issues. If you've got the hardware laying around (I'm lucky in that I have an identical server here), you can try that route. |

to be honest, I don't know of anyone who runs R2. In fact, we looked at the features and determined that it really offered nothing so we opted to not install it. -ec |
