| Hi again,Just a bit curious about indexes and the usage of them. I have created a forum which uses stored procedures. This is fast as it is but I heard indexes could improve even more?Where can I find any good information about this? :)=====================================Why not try and do the impossible? |

| Books Online! It covers what indexes are and has lots of documentation on where they are most advantageous, and how to "tune" them for best performance. SQL Server also has an Index Tuning Wizard, but you should learn the basics of indexing before you use this.SQL Team! Ken Henderson has a chapter on performance tuning that is excellent, and he covers best practices for indexing.You should approach indexes as part of the entire database design process. You *could* just slap them on various tables to enhance performance, but without delving into the entire database design they could also adversely affect performance.
