Hi everyone. Whay is the difference of Windows, SQL, and Form authentication to each other? Correct me if Im wrong, Windows Authentication is running through your local machine. SQL authentication is for the server. I don't know what is meant by Form Authentication. Am I right?

Thanks

windows authentication = verified against the active directory, no need for password or username input, it takes the nt account you used to log on to your computer

sql authentication = information is saved and verified in the sql server, you need a username and password

form authentication = no idea...experts on this site will be able to help more
