Hi everyone.
What is meant by stored procedure?

DECLARE @newyear int ]
set @newyear = 2007 ]----> is it a stored procedure?

what about the CSVTable? is CSVTable a stored procedure?

Thanks. Im just confused.

As read here, http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=80561
the @newyear variable is nothing more than just a value for any year.

If you change @newyear to 2009, you would in the link above get the celebration dates for year 2009 instead of 2007.

Dear peso. thanks for the reply. I mean, in creating a DECLARE and SET, are you making a stored procedure?

thanks.

I am writing code in QA or SSMS, which can be interpreted as a stored procedure, if I want to save the code in the database.
