Hi,

I am going crazy! I've installed SQL 2005 3 times now, but each time it completes there are no servers set up for me to connect to. I can't do anything without connecting to a server and I simply do not have one that is obviously available. How do I set up a server to begin working?

On what machine did you install sql server?
firewall preventing you?

How do you connect to SQL 2005? SSMS? SQLCMD?

Have you restarted the machine where you installed the server services?

I installed both SQLExpress that comes with Visual Studio 2005 and SQL 2005 Enterprise edition. I don't currently connect to anything because I have no server an am stuck at the beginning.

I installed on 3 machines: 1 with Vista, 1 with XP Home and 1 with XP Pro.

Yes, I've restarted the machine many times. By "server services" do you mean SQL 2005 or is that something separate?
