Ignacio writes "I would like to know how can I tell what the changes are between two different versions of a single DTS package. This is for SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition running SP1 under Windows 2000 Server running SP2.

Thanks!"

The version control built into DTS is very basic. It stores old versions for you and that's about it. Other than labeling and documenting your packages, there is no way to automatically compare what's in one version to the next. You can bring up both versions and compare them manually, but that can be very time consuming and tideous depending on the size and complexity of the package. That's where tools like VSS come in very handy.
