| i have installed MSDE 2000 on a Windows 2000 computer for testing. the problem i have is that ports 1433 and 1434 are not open. when i try to connect to them they return a "port unreachable" icmp. also, when i nmap scan the ports they are shown as closed.i do not have any patches installed and the windows firewall is not installed either.how to i enable the ports and get MSDE communicating? |

| You can enable the ports by runnning svrnetcn.exe. |
