A mainitenance plan is setup to create a daily backup od a database.
It is set to overwrite.
Backup type is set to full.

Not sure why the size of the backup increases every day.

Could this be to do with full/differential backup?

Thanks

Is the Database set to FULL Recovery Model?

If YES : Are you making Transaction backups too? If NO : You either need to make Transaction backups, or change Recovery Model to SIMPLE.

How much is it increasing each day?

Are you adding much data? Deleting much?

Maybe the data is being added & deleted such that the indexes are getting fragmented. Reindex might solve that ...
