New Sql Server Registration Not successful.

Hi all
In Enterprise manager i RightClicked on my server (Local (Win NT))
and selected "New Sql Server Registration"

SqlServer Doesnot Exist or access denied.Can you please explain step by step process.

Is it named instance? Tried with host name instead of local?

Check whether the Server is running or not. If no, start it.
