I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with SQL 2005 when trying to save a new file or opening a file from within SQL Server Management Studio and it causing windows explorer to peg the processor on their PC for several minutes before popping up the open file or save file dialog? I have SP2 version 9.0.3050 installed and a couple of third party tools call SQL Refactor v1.1.09 and SQL Prompt v3.1.0.40 that are integrated into the SQL IDE. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks,George

What happens when you display the open file or save file dialog in another application (Word or Excel, for example)? Do you get the same spike in CPU usage?

Hmmm... I can't duplicate the problem. I just did a new database creation without any 100% CPU usage at all. I don't have the third party tools installed, however.

Maybe SQL IDE play some role here.
