| I have installed SQL Server 2005 on my laptop that has Vista OS.I want to log on only to teach myself. Is there a way that i could use the program without having to set it up on a server. |

| You can use any sql client tools to connect to it. |

| You setup password for standard sql login in sql server. Don't need password for trusted login, windows will handle it. |

| Did you search books online? That's the right thing you should do. Anyway, right click the account in ssms and choose properties. You can reset password there. |

| I have installed the express edition, everytthing is fine apart from an error report about Internet Information Services saying the settings are not correct. I am running on a new laptop with vista premium. How do i setup the iis to work with Sql server.Thank thanksRob |

| It was just when i was installing express on, error message was asking me to install iis or change the settings, i imagine it was for reporting services. I am so new to all this i really am starting from the bottom. So i will probably have some silly questions to ask.Thank you for your helpRegardsRob |
