Hi,
I read about datanbase statistics in sql documentation. I wonder, does the statistics refer to for tables frequency usage meaning each table or each column how manay times and the frequency of their usage and their quering frequency, or are we does statistics refer to the number of rows or columns in the different tables of the DB?

Thanks.

they are statistics about the data that is actually in the table. histograms basically. they are used by the optimizer to find efficient query plans.
