I'm wondering If it's good to activate the auto shrink option on a database. Does it improve performance?I also need an opinion about regenerate indexes and making it on a scheduled task.Thank you.The Padrón peppers itch and other no |

In fact, its other way round. If you set Auto Shrink option on, you are bound to get performance hit since file shrinking is CPU intensive operation and takes long time for large DB files. So unless you have very limited disk space (a very rare issue on production system), you have no good reason to turn this on.By regenerating indexes, do you mean rebuilding indexes using DBCC REINDEX?Harsh AthalyeIndia."The IMPOSSIBLE is often UNTRIED" |
