| This is a question that I have not had an opportunity to test. Was wanting to know if anyone in the SQl world knows the answer. In SQL 2K and 2005 your rolls are limited to 8060 bytes without using varchar(MAX). My question is do you have to specify varchar(max) before your roll can exceed 8060 or does SQL 2005 exceed without specifing varchar(Max). Also does it expand it across multiple pages automatically. Please assist if you can.Thanks |

| Thank you for your response. I am aware that the page is still 8k but my question is does 2005 automatically expand or exceed that size without the varchar(Max) Non-Unicode character?Thank you for any assistance |
