are you trying to update a column with a value that is longer than the data type? i.e. you have a char(10) and your trying to update it to a value that's 11 characters long?

no. i do have a char(5) and if i update the date it will incremented by 1. e.i if the count from my table today is 1 and tommorow the table will also give me the data who is like the previous table the count will be incremented by one so the count will be 2..

Why numeric columns like Amt and Count are defined as char? and what is the structure of tbl_CLR_Delinquency table?

the error is telling you that youare trying to put more than 20 characters in the that column. so yes, make them both 50
