gurus, how can i register a SQL2K5 server in SQL 2K? the 2K5 server is in the lists of available servers in SQL Server Wizard, but
errors like "General Network Error" and "SQL Server does not exists" appear, but i registered the 2K to 2K5 successfully.i tried both windows and sql authentication but still fails. thanks in advance

i see, thanks... does it means that i can't create partition views from 2K and 2K5? also i can't create a cross-linked queries in 2K referencing to 2K5 databases? is upgrading the 2K to 2K5 the only solution?
