what privilliges shall i have to give a user
who can acess only views in the database and not the tables.
he can do any dml operations on views which would be updated on the tables.

Depends .We usually give read permission on database and execute permission on SP.I donno what is your requirement?

Just grant proper permissions on views need to access.
