Gurus,

I am using SQL Server 2000. I can insert characters in my table by using query analyzer. See sample below:

Create Table testtable (mydata Nvarchar(200))
INSERT INTO testtable(mydata) VALUES ('?????')

Problem occurs when I retrieve via query analyzer by using select statement I got "?????" question marks.

could anyone please help me to get the correct data

Thanks

If you input five question marks you should get five question marks when selecting.

Do you have cyrillic installed on the server?
Do you have cyrillic installed on the machine where you run QA/SSMS?

Goto "Control Panel" and "Regional and language options".
Click "Advanced" tab and scroll down to find Cyrillic page conversion tables.

Did you put a checkmark on
"1251 (ANSI - Cyrillic)"
"20880 (IBM EBCDIC - Cyrillic (Russian))"
"28595 (ISO 8859-5 Cyrillic)"
"855 (OEM - Cyrillic)"
"866 (OEM - Russian)"

and then click OK?
