 How to disable audit in SQL Server 2000?

Hi,
I disabled audit by right-clicking the server->security->and disabled audit->none..But also we seeing audit files.

Can anyone help me??

i'm fairly certain that the server needs to be stopped/restarted in order to change the auditing level.

i'm not getting where you have disabled the auditing.....r u using 2000??? or 2005???

Where are you seeing audit files after disabling? It shouldn't after rebooting machine though.
