HI All,

Is this is a good idea or not?

If i attached my SQL Server to SAN only for DATA and LOG (Ldf) drives
through the FC. then we put *.bak and *.trn on to local disk RAID 1 drive?

Any performance isues?

The only performance degradation you could get is if you do not set your LUNs up properly for your SAN (seen it happen). That's without going into the bus speed on the server itself.

Otherwise no problems.

As these are only backup files, you can put them wherever you like. As long as you move them off the machine on a regular basis(otherwise, what is the point of having a backup?!?), then there is not a problem.
