| Hello All,I’m storing resumes in a memo field in my database, and I would like to know what would be the best way to find the closet match. Example: Lets say I’m looking for a candidate that has the closet to the below required/desired items:- Bachelor degree Required- Cisco Router Troubleshooting Required - Routing Protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) Required - CSU, MUXES Required - IP Voice Desired - Data Circuit troubleshooting Required - Frame-Relay, T3, T1.5. MPLS Desired - CCNP Desired - CVoice Desired Does anyone know how to write a query for these search criteria? Advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| Have a look in Books Online for the PATINDEX function. The tricky bit is determining your search criteria to pick all the matches up.A better solution (although more work for data entry) is to have a reference list of all skills you look for (coffee making, car washing, brown nosing etc) and tag each candidate's record accordingly. Make the recruiters earn their money.... :-)Cheers,Tim |
