We have some reports which are only meant to be exported to excel (ie not displayed on the screen or printed). Is it possible to have a report paramter or a url query param which will cause the report to open straight to an excel export rather than displaying the report? |

The reports are being called from an ASP.net app using the report viewer. |

Another related question - is there some run-time variable which knows/indicates whether the report is being exported or displayed on-screen? |

Yup. just append rs:Format=Excel to report url to render it as excel. |
