How can I change the status of a database to STANDBY Mode from RECOVERY mode

Do you mean Read-Only ? You can do through Database Properties.

Tried 'restore log db_name with stand by',but it says "database already in fully recoverd state"

Ok, This doesn't make any sense for me.

1)Take the Full backup,
2) Restore thebackup file over to the existing Database with Standby mode.


I beleive this is what you are looking for.

Did you refresh your screen after the "restore with recovery"?

Does this relate with OP's Question? And There is no "Logshipment" in SQL Server. Please get details from Booksonline and post.

You don't have to show ideas about Log shipping . I have been working with it since SQL server 7.5 and SQL 2000(Custom Log shipping)
