Is it at all possible to do inserts into views? how does it work does it propergate to the tables that the view is based on?

But the created view should not contain any aggregate functions and also should satisfy lot other conditions for you to modify it.

I would agree with the above, there are a lot of limitations and if you are going to insert through a view its always easier on a view that only contains a single table
