Hi Everybody,I am a Chartered Accountant and am using a customised SQL based VB application. We were using SQL 2000 with SP4 on Win Server 2003 since last year, while trying to implement RAID on my server, I accidently moved the data folder of SQL Server, after which even on its restoring back to original location the server did not start.I tried rebuilding the registry thru SQL Server Installation Disk, but that did not did the job.So I tried re-intalling SQL server, did also did not worked. Then I deleted all SQL Installation & Data files after taking backup of Data files directory, and also deleted all references of SQL in Windows registry. Then I tried re-installing SQL Server 2000 without SP4, it copied all files and then while configuring server installation failed. Now I need to re-install SQL Server but do not know how to do it.Could anyone of you help. Thanks in advance. |

If you need to reinstall SQL Server (I'm assuming a default installation) ensure you have deleted the SQL Server using the installation disk . Do you have an installation disk -? or the installation files?Jack Vamvas--------------------Search IT jobs from multiple sources- http://www.ITjobfeed.com |

Hi JackI have uninstalled the SQL Server 2000 thru installation disk itself. The problem which I now face that the fresh installation is not working. The reason I could understand is that SP4 of SQL Server 2000 installs WOW64 on Win Server 2003, which I am unable to disable or uninstall. As I have installation disk which is SQL Server 2000 without any SP's, the installation fails.Kindly advise, Thanks in advance CA Vishal Agarwal |
