| That command will remove inactive log records. It won't clear the log completely. If you're on simple recovery mode, the same thing can be accomplished by running a checkpoint. If you're in full recovery mode and have log backups running, you should be aware that the statement breaks the log chain and you will no longer be able to do point-in-time recoveries until you take a full/diff backup.Dump Tran is deprecated and shouldn't be used any longer--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
