Dear Experts,to my latest production environment, i've planned to implement like this.Daily at midnight, a full backupfor every three hours, a differential backupfor every half-an-hour transactional backup.now i'm at onsite to plan for this. now i'm asking your help1)i need to go to maintenance plan wizard and set three different jobs ok i'l be doing this.2) what about the disk size? it grows day by day. so how can i maintain the backup folder? how to set the expiry date or over write facility? please help me here and correct me where ever i'm wrong in this strategy.ArnavEven you learn 1%, Learn it with 100% confidence.

You can use maintenance plan for it . In SQL 2005, you can do for differential backup as well. Use Maintenance plan (not wizard) to include Maintenance cleanup task to delete old backups. Or use Tara's Script to schedule backup and delete older bak files.

I have never used. You have to test and make sure you are satisfied and can schedule job in your prod server.
