hello world,does anyone know if a workstation remote computer need licensing to install the workstation components?i know i need the license for the server. i am going to be using the remote computer to develop in ssis and bids. |

Thanks for the prompt reply. I guess what I need to find out is if I can use the installation CD that used for the server on the client machine since I am just going to use it for development. I know SQLExpress is free, but you are right it doesn't come with SSIS. It does however comes with BIDS which only offers the Analysis templates. So to be clear I can not use the Server Installation CD to avoid spending the 50 bucks? |

What workstation components ?If its client connectivity tools, For winforms apps ?I think its free, but you pay a license for client connectivity to the server.If its to develop apps or SSIS then you can purchase Developer edition which runs on a workstation.
