Can someone tell me why SQL Server 2005 is on my computer? I don't know what it is or even what it is used for? Can I delete it or is it used in conjunction with another program.

SQL was downloaded on my computer through MS automatic updates.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Brian.

nope sql server wont be downloaded by automatic updates. Its seems like somebody else has instaled it. SQL Server is a db engine which you can use for creating databases to store data. Is it your personal computer or official pc?

It is personal computer but I use it for work also. I am connected through our Citrix server though.

It does not say what vesion that it is.

It just says: Microsoft SQL Server 2005.

When I open it I have the following options:
Config Tools
Config Mgr
SQL server error & usage reporting
Surface area config

Thanks.

Brian

I see. It is required for some software. Which major app did you recently install?

The last software I loaded was TurboCAD and I also upgraded my MS office small business package.
