I'm creating a unique key in a new table. What I'd first like to do is create values in the unique key up to 1000.
Example:
1
2
3
4
....
1000
How would I go about doing this? Just a single field numbered from 1 to 1000. Thanks in advance.

Why are you trying to create the key first? Couldn't this be better served by simply using an identity field, which will automatically seed the value and maintain uniqueness for you every time a new row is inserted?

Edit - No offense intended but I have to ask - Your not funketekun in disguise, are you?? Just curious.....

I don't think I am.

Just a ridiculous request I was told to come up with. No real reason behind it. Just wondering how to do it.
