 Error attaching a Database from another server

hi there,
iam trying to attach a database where the .mdf and .ldf files were directly copied from the folders without the detach option,he made this because he didnt find interface for the sql to do the detach/ or backup thing
iam trying to attach to another server to do some testing but its failing to attach the db
error 602: could not find row in sysindexes for database id 12, object id 1, index id 1, run dbcc checktable on sysindexes

how to attach this iam using sql 2000

Run the db checks. Hope, the 2 versions of sql server are the same. Are they ?

i don't think they are the same, also how can i run the db check without knowing the table names its a closed box for me, what to use in case there is no interface and how to do?

Is the source version sql2005 or 2008 ? I know 2000 is where you are tring to restore it.

Then you can't restore it like that. Sql 2005 stores names of objects differently than 2000. You'd rather use Import/Export wizard for this.

how to back up from the express edition if i dont have the management studio is there a command line tool?
