| Are there large number of other indexes existing on table?Does inserts happens to the table frequently and in bulk? |

then please keep in mind that addition of extra indexes will make inserts slow.Add it only if you're sure that you frequent query using the concerned column. Also consider dropping and recreating index if you want to make bulk inserts faster (which again depends on frequency at which insertions happen)In future, please ensure you post only in relevant forums.This is script library used for posting working scripts. you should be posting this in 2005 or 2000 forums. |
