We have the following servers:- 1 Developer server- 1 Test server- 7 Production serverAll the Productions servers are running SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition. The Developer and Test servers are running SQL Server Standard Edition. My question is whether it is better to use the SQL Server Developer Editon on Developer and Test servers? I understand that the SQL Server Developer Edition is licensed per developer or tester. But what does this exactly mean? Lets say that we have a team of 10 developers and that we have 8 applications. These applications are tested by 50 people in our building. Does this mean that we have to get 58 licenses? Thanks. |

I already read those links and I also read the licensing overview of SQL Server 2008. |
