I have a webform which submits richtext data (includes formatting tags, ie <br/>,<i></i>, etc etc)

Is there a easy way that I can retrieve this data and strip out the unwanted tags so that they do not clutter search results?

It would be even better if I could avoid having to index the tags in the first place.

can you please clarify this further?

also, what happens if a user happens to enter a search term with a word that may exist in a tag, ie "bold"?
