I am new to SQL Server. I need to create a automated process to report the active users in SQL each day. This is necessary due to issues we have with our backups while users are currently in the system. All active users will get a slap on the wrist.

exec sp_who

alternatively

exec sp_who2

You should have no problems while backing up.

Try this for active users:

sp_who2 active
