Dir Sirs,

I'm certified in SQL Server 2005(MCTS) and don't have a real experience in my MCTS... I will be interviewed for a SQL DBA job and will be asked about my future resposabilites...

So anyone can help me on this(Best Practices,Which objects to monitor?,Which Alerts to use?,Security plan strategy,....)

I know it will be an open question but need help in this...

So, am waiting your valuable reply,

Many thanx in advance.

I have been winging my way in a DBA / Developer job for years and learning as I go. I know most of it by learning from mistakes, being fired and starting again. I'm very confident that I've learnt stuff I wouldn't have learnt from books.

I am about to take the MCTS SQL Server 2005 Implementation & Maintenance exam 70-431 on Tuesday so my CV will look better with a load of experience. Do you have any tips for me? Did you pass first time? I'm a guru with interviews... 300+

In your interview, before you do or say anything, listen to the interviewer(s) and work out if they are database experts or know nothing. If they don't seem to know much and are looking to you for expertise then confidently speak of your knowledge. Say you'll have to get to know their databases first.

They won't be ASKING you about your future responsibilites... they'll be telling you them...

Ask this forum once you're IN the job and you know exactly what you're facing

One piece of advice - don't exaggerate your experience. If you have very little, admit it.
If you claim to have lots of experience but don't demonstrate that in your answers, it will be apparent that you're lying.

Be aware that testking (and many like it) are braindumps and it's a violation of the exam NDA to pass these around (not to mention that they are copyrighted materials). If caught, you are risking having all of your certifications revoked, permanently.
