but can u tell me in a layman language what this 'sql injection' is all about..
what are the possible measures to stop this...
i searched some sites and they suggested using stored procedures and prepared statements.....

do throw some light,,,

May I suggest you do some reading on the topic. Google will give you lots of information on SQL injection and how to prevent it.

You say 'layman language'. Are you a web developer? A database developer?
