Hi,
I am using Vista Home Premium. I installed SQL 2005, but I cant see the Management Console.

Any ideas about this?

Thanks

Mike,

You can try this..hope it helps

you will need to go to uninstall programs in Control Panel and choose to uninstall workstation components ONLY. Then run the setup of SQL Server again and remember to go to advanced to select the workstation components and it will install it properly for you. The problem is that Vista does not realise that the workstation components (including SQL Server Management Studio).

Huh!! Doesn't make sense. I have SQL 2000,2005 in vista and have no problem with it.Like Tara said, he must have installed Client tools.

Tara,
Are you implying that I should install Client Tools or I should not install Client Tools (I know the Enterprise Manager was in Client Tools...but just checking)

I have uninstalled ALL SQL 2005 from my machine, and am in the process of reinstalling it.

I do want to host the database locally (Vista Home Prem.)

I am guessing there is no particular sequence to install the software ( Server tools vs Client Tools)
