Hi folks, I'm kinda a newbie to Using Microsoft SQL Server and i had an unusual request from my staff. They want to know if there is a way we can calculate how much time over a 3 month period a server was down for maintenance. I'm sure we were not taken offline more than a few hours for maintenance during working hours, but they want some kind of written proof. Is this possible???

I'd check the SQL Server Error Logs for this. But they need to define what they mean by maintenance. At my company, we deploy new versions of a database schema and it is considered maintenance and there is also downtime. However, the SQL Server is never down during the process.
