Hi,

Just restart the service and try to restore.

services can be restarted by

Run --> services.msc --> choose servicename and click on restart --> and

now try to restore

the above error may be because someone is using ur server-instance while you are trying to restore..

Raky, This is really bad suggestion. You don't restart services as it might damage the integrity of database if you do in middle of operation(Rollback). Also How does someone using server-instances affect restore?

Backup only contains the used portion of databases. You database might be 120-150 GB. So it will take time to restore. Also if you had put STAT option ,you would have known percentages of restore. Did you restore in REcovery option or Non-Recovery option?

You should choose Recovery option to bring database online.
