Hello,I have Installed SQL server 2005 Evaluation version on my machine with windows XP.I have configured its services through services console in Windows XP.some servesis were already running like MSSQLServer services, while some other I start Manually. But, when I start SQL Server Agent Services (clicking on it and then press start button on service window) after some time it stops automatically. Is this normal behaviour or there is some thing wrong.I make this service to start automatically and after I restart my machine and check the status of this service it was Stop. Why is this happening. Also, I've also tried to start it with through SQL Server configuration Manager but it doesn't start. When I tried to start it through surface area configuation tool ( For services and connection ) it gives following errorTITLE: Surface Area Configuration------------------------------The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion, you need administrator privileges to be able to start/stop this service. (SQLSAC)------------------------------BUTTONS:OK------------------------------It seems that I need administrative Priviliges but I have set it to window authantication mode.Well give me advice in this regard how to configure it, why It isn't starting automatically and how to cope with it.Regards,Danish Kamran |

Check in Control Panel / Admin Tools/ Services... if service is set to start automatically. |
