| HI, my sql knowlegde is very limited but i have installed on a server 2008 box using the local admin account.When trying to access the SQL Management studio with any other domain account you cannot you recieve the folowing error messageTITLE: Connect to Server------------------------------ Cannot connect to GRPOM. ------------------------------ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Login failed for user 'domain\ADMuser'. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456) For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&EvtSrc=MSSQLServer&EvtID=18456&LinkId=20476But i would have thought any domain admin should be able to access the management studio??Please can someone helpthanks |

| Well is this 2005 or 2008? You reference both in your title & body of the post.If its 2005 simple you can scroll down to the security tab and click the logins folder. You can then look at the permissions for a given account and the specific rights.I am not sure about 2008 as I do not have it.Hope that helps !r&r |
