HI,

my sql knowlegde is very limited but i have installed on a server 2008 box using the local admin account.

When trying to access the SQL Management studio with any other domain account you cannot you recieve the folowing error message

TITLE: Connect to Server

------------------------------



Cannot connect to GRPOM.



------------------------------

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:



Login failed for user 'domain\ADMuser'. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)

But i would have thought any domain admin should be able to access the management studio??

Please can someone help

Well is this 2005 or 2008? You reference both in your title & body of the post.

If its 2005 simple you can scroll down to the security tab and click the logins folder. You can then look at the permissions for a given account and the specific rights.

I am not sure about 2008 as I do not have it.
