ScenarioI have downloaded and installed an eval. copy of SQL2005 std. 64bit (expires in 80 days).I installed it with the default instance and all is working well (I have several databases running).I now want to install ACT Prem Web 2009, which reqires a named instance (ACT7) for it to work.Questions ...How do I create a new named instance, without destroying or affecting the existing configuration. If this involves re-running the installation, will this have any effect on the time limitation of the original eval. installation.Following a successful installation/resolution, I will be purchasing a bona-fida copy of the software (SQL2005). |

I thought the same, but I did actually speak with Sage/ACT tech support and they confirmed that the named instance "ACT7" was a necessity. |
