Talk about a beginner!

I followed the instructions for downloading/starting SQL. I downloaded "mysql-essential-5.1.31-win32" installation program. I answered all the prompts as suggested in the book I'm using ("Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MYSQL" 3rd edition). But then when I tried to launch SQL, I got an error. No message; it just says "error."

Any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks!

This is a Microsoft SQL Server site. Since you are using MySql, it would be better if you posted your question on a site that specializes in MySql. Try mysql.com or dbforums.com
